Graeme ‘Jerker’ Jenkin
The next Odd Friday Lunch on 19th May will be run by John Harms & The Footy Almanac. It
will be a special ‘Collingwood’ Lunch promoting the book ‘In Black & White: 125 Moments
That Made Collingwood’, which goes through the first 125 years of The Collingwood
Football Club.
The authors, Michael Roberts and Glenn McFarlane, are faithful Magpie historians with a
number of ‘Collingwood’ books behind them.
The special guest for this Lunch will be Graeme ‘Jerker’ Jenkin, a big man with a big heart and
a big laugh. Bob Rose brought Graeme to Collingwood as a ruckman, and he played 127
games before another 22 for Essendon. He was a Collingwood Cult Figure who was runner up
in the 1970 Best & Fairest for Collingwood, and one of Collingwood’s better players in the
1970 grand Final. He won selection in the Victorian team in 1970 but is perhaps most famous
for being the player Alex Jesaulenko took his spectacular mark over, in the 1970 Grand Final.
