Kevin Sheehan is an ex Bendigo boy who played 102 games for Geelong, played in 3 reserve
grade premierships and captained one of them. He retired from playing in 1982.
He has remained involved in the game – he was the AFL’s first full time Development Officer,
Victorian State of Origin Team Manager, has had various media roles and is now the AFL
National Talent & International Manager and thus responsible for the AFL Draft.
He played a key role in growing the game into a National competition, was an instigator in
VicKick then AusKick, and the TAC Cup, and has the Kevin Sheehan Medal awarded to the
best player in the Under 16 National Championships each year.
In 2013 he was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for his services to the game.
We are expecting a contingent from Bendigo for this Lunch.
